i think i’ve probably stated before that i love to go and see bands play live. in the last couple of years i’ve seen some pretty cool shows – phoenix, she & him, john butler trio, fleetwood mac, razorlight, kings of leon and lionel richie to name a few. this past weekend the mister and i bought some tickets to see a couple of shows. first up is vampire weekend. i just love these boys from NYC. i’ve added a video of M79, which happens to be my current favourite song of theirs. it makes me dance around like a loon. we see them at the corn exchange in edinburgh at the end of november. i can’t hardly wait.
second up and i’m very, very excited about this one, is, my beloved, citizen cope. i first heard cope’s music in 2004 when i was living in vienna, virginia, usa and he played this little cafe/live music venue in the town called jammin’ java. he kinda stole my heart that night. since then i’ve seen him play again in the states and in london. i’ve met him and pretty much acted like a starstruck loser, lol. but i think he is one of the most beautiful men in the world and i cannot wait until february to see him. i’m hoping my friend jess is going to make it over from dubai to come see him with me. the video clip is of one of my favourite cope songs, bullet and a target. it’s special to me because it reminds me of the time i spent living in america. good times.
